| About the Artist: Michelle Coburn has had a passion for drawing, design and photography for years. Always most interested in Art and Photography at school, Michelle began photographing horse shows and weddings when a teenager still in high school. She went on to go to North Adelaide School of Arts and majored in Photography attaining a Certificate in Applied Art. When finished there, Michelle returned to Whyalla and began work at the Whyalla News as a weekend photographer and darkroom operator, as well as continuing the wedding and show photography. Eventually she began managing a Photographic store, and continued managing photographic stores for some years. Taking shops which were struggling and turning them around and increasing sales - to the point that she was known in interstate head offices for her work. |
| When she finished work at the last store she was offered a position in the head office of a top brand name film company, however declined the offer to take some time off due to health issues. Winged Horse Productions was 'born' from a housemates suggestion for a name after seeing Michelles ink drawings of winged horses, such as the one that is now the logo for Winged Horse Productions. Michelle met and married Craig Coburn, who shares her passion with horses and photography. Together they run a boutique horse stud, CM Sporthorses, at Minnipa, on South Australias Eyre Peninsula. Michelle suffers from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS - and she and Craig call it 'Yellow Wiggles Disease' - a name that has been a lot easier for their friends to say than the other! And its what the Yellow Wiggle has and caused him to leave The Wiggles.), Bi Polar Disorder, Anxiety, and Stress, which makes things a bit difficult a lot of the time and is suspected of having Chiari 1 Malformation. These health issues make things a little more difficult for Michelle to do the amount of work she once was able to do, however she is doing as much as she can when able. |
