Craig opted not to take
his own horse, Buck
(CM Burnt In Gold) to
the Wudinna Team
Yarders competition at
the end of August,
instead he rode one of
the Allen Park horses,
Allen Park Onida - a
lovely black and white
4 yr old filly.
As much as he hates to
admit it, I think he actually
really enjoyed riding a
horse that stayed on all 4
feet for the entire day (with
the exception of the parts
where she was running
after cattle!)...He had a ball
on her and plans to ride her
at the next Team Yarders
competition!
Trent had been putting some miles
on her bringing stock in on the
farms, but hadnt done a lot with her
for a little while.  So for a 'fresh'
young horse, she did really well!
Trent of course was
on his lovely
Palomino QH
stallion, Spurvolt Tu
Chicahn.
He is a very handy
little horse around
the cattle and is
happy to either
stand there quietly
and wait his turn, or
get in there and
boogie when asked
to do so!  Trent has
a few
mares due to foal
by Tuie shortly.  If
last seasons foals
are anything to go
by - these should
be lovely foals!
Onida is by Allen Park Cherokee.
She is typical of Cherokees foals.
Craig was tempted to bring her home
instead of handing her back to Trent
at the end of the day!
Below you can see Craigs hand
raised after his team penned their
'cattle' - He is rather pleased that his
team got the fastest time in the Open
section after lunch - 1min 4 seconds.
Never mind that they only penned
ONE of their three steers that they
were supposed to!
They figured it was better to get a
score on the board for one, than a no
score with three!
The 30th of August was the first time the
Wudinna Team Yarders ran anything under
lights.  This was a practice session for the
Wudinna Show, which is in September.
Left is Trent on Tuie, and below you can
see him on his second mount for the
evening -
Mr T - a QH gelding.  Mr T and Trent did the
barrels in 18 and a bit seconds, which won
him the Jackpot for the night!  His third run
was on Onida, pictured at bottom.  She turns
well but lopes between the barrels rather
than actually running!
Below is Sonia Allen -
Trents sister in law - on
Dunny, who is by Allen Park
Bald Eagle, and gets pulled
out of the paddock once in a
while for a sedate ride...
The old girl can actually go
when she wants to!
