.
On the long weekend in June 2010, (Friday 11th to the
Monday 14th), we had a camp at Tcharkulda Rock, just 4km
out of Minnipa on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.
The camp was mainly made up of South Australian Equine
Forum members, with quite a few others joining in for the fun!
Bas and Kylie (Forum name: Rustyrider) flew over from
Adelaide, and Bas took Craig (Forum name: Craig) flying,
which is when the aerial shots of the town and campsite were
taken by Craig.
The photographs on
this page were taken
by a number of people:
Shell Coburn
Craig Coburn
Caroline Payne
Jo Hutt
and Jessie Rae Preece
Below Left: Kylie on the
pink horse Minti - yes
folks, she is pink... its
not your eyes playing
tricks on  you!  Jess
dyed her with food dye.
Right: Jess (Forum name: DC)
and Fiona (Forum name:
Blewbury) chatting.
Far Right: Kylie and Anne
(Forum name: Eswot) on Minti
and Katana - belonging to
Jess.  Below: Fergie,
belonging to Jess.
Below Right: A lovely shot of
the early morning fog taken by
Caroline of the Gawler Ranges.
Above Right: Bas, Craig and Anne chatting while cooking breakfast, which you can see on
the BBQ at left.... Bacon, Eggs, Tomato and Mushrooms with Toast! YUM (except for the
mushies, but some people like them! lol)
Below: Caroline (Forum name: Carolinep) and Kylie near the 'kitchen' - the old Hunt Shed
at Tcharkulda... was a great storage shed and kitchen for us for the weekend!
We camped at the old Hunt Shed site, which has a great BBQ setup and an area for a
campfire, has a toilet, and a small rainwater tank at the back of the shed giving water into
the sink in the shed.
Left: Anne wearing her SAEF cap!
She reckons this is the 'Give me Iced
Coffee' look.... lol
Below: Kylie and Bas.
Right: Sarah and Monique - a couple
of great girls who just loved the
weekend and had a blast riding Beau
(belonging to Shell and Craig), Fee
and Fergie (belonging to Jess) and
Angel (belonging to Sarahs mum)

Miriam and daughter
Sarah, and Monique
(with her back to

mum Caroline with
Brenna the
Wolfhound.
Left: Sarah on Fergie
with Jess leading.
Right: Kylie on Minti - Craig had a couple of
kids convinced she was born pink...
Far Right: Sarah on Beau having a blast.
Below: The ride - some rode, some led horses,
but it was a lovely walk through the scrub and
tracks.
Sarah and Beau led the way
most of the time!  He has
quite the power walk on him
and is happy out in front.
Left: Kylie on Minti with Bas walking
alongside, and Caroline leading Fergie.
Right: Katanas lovely face.
Below: Jess leading Guy, Anne on Katana
and Monique on Fee.

on their way home.

Amy) on Katana.

Below: Jo (Forum name
JoHutt) with her son
Shane feeding Dusty a
carrot and Leah waiting
her turn to give her one.
The kids all had a blast
and loved being able to
run around in the scrub,
climb the rock
(supervised), catch
tadpoles and ride the
horses.   They even
toasted marshmallows
and loved those of an
evening!

Below: Jess walking alongside Leah on Dusty with Caroline leading.  Leah
was stoked to have a ride on her.   Below Right: Brenna having a rest.
Above: Sarah on Angel with Miriam standing in front of her.  Love the pink
bridle!  Left: Monique on Beau.  Below Centre: Miriam on Angel.  Below Right:
Miriam and grandson Nick - an unconventional way of carrying him... lol

rock.  Right: Jo and daughter Ruby. Left:

Shell in the cart with Wendys youngest, Andrea and Beau standing
patiently.  Right: Angus on Beau with mum Fiona alongside.
Below: Wendy on Roc - the smile on her face says it all!   She hasnt ridden
for a while and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Wendy asked Shell how long it had
been since the two of them had ridden together - it would have to be over
20 years... They have been friends since Kindergarten!
Below Right: Angus on Roc

ready to go for a drive.   Above Right: Unharnessing Beau.

These photos are a little out of order...

the shafts as it had been a while since she was
harnessed up.
Left: Jess driving Dusty along one of the tracks.
Below: Craig and Brody coming down from the
rock.
Above Left: Shane, Ruby, Nick and Leah in the cart with Jess leading.  All
having a blast!
Above Right: Jess with a HUGE grin on her face, on top of Fergie, and
Left, giving Fergie a huge hug after getting off.... Jess has not ridden
Fergie out of the round yard before, as she is young and green.  This
was a huge achievement for them both!
Below and Right: Jess on Minti - hopping over a log and having a
little ride up in front of the rock with Brenna in tow.
The drive home!!  Right: Pom and Jess in the cart with Dusty.
Below Right: Shell and Beau.  They had to drive the 4km home to
Jess's place, and then another km to Shell and Craigs.
Above and Right: Craig driving Beau into home!
The weekend was fanastic, and everyone had a great time.   We will be doing it
