Oscar The Orange
Oscar was originally purchased as a pony
for a 4 yr old girl and proved to be a little
too advanced for her level of riding.
Going by his teeth - he looks to be about 11
- 13 yrs old, and stands approximately 11.3
to 12 hh.  He is a handy sized pony.
He is pictured here with 13 yr old Ashlee
riding him for the first time, and he went
really well for her.
He has a lovely soft mouth and is quite
responsive to the legs and seat.
In the past he has obviously just got away
with a few things, so tried to test Ashlee out
a couple of times by not wanting to canter
however a couple of good growls at him and a
flick with a stick off the tree and he soon
changed his mind.  He did attempt a small
pigroot which caused Ashlee to burst out
laughing and was only a half hearted attempt.
With a child who has a basic knowledge of
riding and the ability to be firm with a pony, I
think Oscar would make a brilliant 'friend' for
them.
He is a sweet little man who floats well, is easy
to catch and handle and is a bit of a sook.

LeHunte Pony Club - and go to the various rally
days to see him being ridden by a variety of kids.

Oscar is also harness broken - We have not tested
him out in the cart as yet though. This makes him a
versatile little pony and would suit an adult who
wants to drive as well as have a pony handy to throw
kids on!
These photos were taken
of Oscar and Ashlee on
the 7th of December 2008.
She hadnt jumped him
bareback before and
hopped over this small
jump with ease!
He also didnt mind going
underneath the rail as well
after Ash led him under
there a few times first!
These photographs were taken in November
2009 at LeHunte Pony Club.
Oscar is one of the ponies we lend to kids who
dont have their own horses to learn to ride on at
PC.   He has been really great with all the kids
and is happy to go at their speed - whatever
that may be!
He is only for sale as we have another larger pony to use for lessons now, and Oscar has so much life
and go left in him that it is a waste him just sitting in the paddock.   Having said that - if he doesnt sell,
we will not be overly disappointed as he is just so handy to have around and be able to grab out of the
paddock and throw visiting children on him at any time!
