| Tiki joined our herd on the 24th February 2008. She stands approximately 16.1hh and is a lovely big solidly built mare. Tiki is ran with CM Oberon Toblerone and produced a colt in 2009 who we sadly lost - he was a month overdue and was a severe dummy foal. Just one of those things that happen and nothing we could have done about it, and not her fault either! She is currently in foal again to CM Oberon Toblerone and is due in October/November 2010. We believe that she will produce something very nice for us. She is beautifully put together and has a lovely temperament and is quite easy going. I think Montica would be lovely under saddle too. We may well get a couple of foals out of her and then put her in work and have someone show her for us on the local circuit before breeding with her again. She would do well in Show Hunter classes I think, as well as the open Hack ring and Dressage arena. I would like to see how she does over fences as well, but I dont know if we will get that far! Montica did not do terribly well on the track. She had a few starts, didnt finish top 5 in any of them, so we are guessing this is why she was retired from racing! That was lucky for us wasnt it! It meant she could join us! |
| Tiki quickly established herself as the top mare in the paddock. Shes good at pulling faces, but I think when it boils down to it - its bluff! She has a lovely floating trot on her which I have yet to capture on camera. I will update photographs of her as I get them! |
| Tiki uses her hind end beautifully when she moves out, and has a nice big powerful stride. She is a lovely example of a Thoroughbred, and will be an ideal cross with the Cleveland Bay Sporthorse Stallions.
