| CM Commanding Miss Commanding View decided to give birth to her filly, the FIRST foal by Billara Beersheba, early on Wednesday 9th January. By 7am she was born! |
| Jenni (the filly) had one leg back a fair way so Craig had to render assistance and pull the leg forward so that she could give birth easily. |
| As soon as the head and shoulders were through, the Jenni's body just kind of spat out very quickly. Was one of the quickest I have seen. |
| Craig broke the sac off her face and cleared her nostrils. The birth was attended by 6 of our cats... We have yet to have a birth where there hasnt been at least one cat present. As you can see, the cats like to go say hello to the new arrivals! |
| Mandy decided to have a little sit down and rest for a few minutes... Maj who was in the next yard over thought it was all very exciting and was having a look at what was going on. We are very pleased with this filly. She is our first foal by Billara Beersheba and we look forward to seeing what Maj produces to him in the next few weeks. |
| She was very quickly trying to get up. It didnt take her long at all to stand... |
| Once Jenni got to her feet Craig had to hold her steady for a second or two - only as you can see by the rather awkward way she is sitting below, she didnt stay up for long! Watching the foals stand and fall on their butts is quite amusing and I thoroughly reccomend doing it at some stage if you can! It takes them a little while to figure it out but once they have it they are set! |
| Mandy was constantly licking her baby... Its a lovely thing to witness... the bonding between mum and the new bub is always lovely to watch. It really is a joy to be breeding these gorgeous babies! |
| A little later in the day I took a few more photographs of her... She has the star, a dribble of a stripe and the tiniest snip on her offside nostril.She is a friendly little girl and has the typical Cleveland Bay ears... She WILL grow into them though!! |
