Saturday 6th February was the LeHunte
Pony Club Beach Day!
Initially we were going to camp overnight
and ride both days, however the horses and
the riders were exhausted after one day!
Kathryn rode her TB, Hakka,
and Tash rode her coffin bay
pony, Walt.
Craig was riding a new mare,
Honey, who is Arab x QH,
and Isaac rode Beau who is
an Appaloosa.
We went to Walkers
Rocks, which is near
Elliston.   It is a beautiful
big beach with white
sand as far as the eye
can see.  It is a truely
lovely place to ride.
It wasnt long before the horse
swapping started, and Kathryn
hopped on Beau, with Tash Walt
and rode him - the kids all took the
saddles off and were happy riding
bareback.
Ann, Claire,
Trudy and Shell
sat on the
beach in the
shade and
watched the
Craig was as
big a kid as the
rest of them
and enjoyed the
riding.   All the
horses loved
the water which
was handy, and
the grins on
their faces said
it all!
pigrooting session as Kathryn
cantered up the beach at one
point.
Trudy hopped on Beau, and
worked out it had been 30
years since she has been on a
horse bareback!!
Beau being the lovely horse
that he is, looked after Trudy
well while she plodded about!
Walkers Rocks is quite a
popular beach, and there
were a number of people
driving up and down in
4WD's, but its big enough
that everyone can have their own space
and not encroach on each other.
We chose a lovely spot a couple of
hundred metres from the ramp that you
drive down onto the beach on, and had
quite a few people drive up past us and
give us a wave as they did so.

Trudy on Beau, Tash on
Honey and Craig on Walt.
Above: Shell actually got on
Beau - it was her first time on
a horse since November 2008,
so was quite an acheivement
for her.  Right: Craig giving
Beau a head hug.  Below:
Isaac on Beau.
Walt just loves the water, and
took every opportunity to lay
he could.  We could not have
asked for a better day or a
better herd of horses!
