Ceilidh and Ally stood on
the sidelines and were
spectators for the CB
classes.
At least Allys lovely
plaiting job was not
completely wasted
because Ceilidh looked
like she was waiting to go
in for a class all day! lol.
Bill was happy with
Ceilidh being alongside
the ring for him to go
back and talk to after each
of his classes too.
On Saturday the 10th of
October 2009, we
travelled down to
Kapunda for the
Inaugural Kapunda Breed
Show which was held on
Sunday the 11th.
We took Bill and Ceilidh
once again, as they both
did well last weekend at
Strathalbyn.

Left is Bill watching Craig
apply hoof black to
Ceilidh with Heather
Morgan holding her.
Above you can see our lovely helpers for
the day, Ally Sargent and Heather Morgan
who came from Jamestown to plait up and
Ally led Ceilidh in her classes for us.  Both
Ally and Heather have mares currently
being served by Bill.  Right is the lovely Bill
all tizzied up and posing for a photo.
Below are Ceilidh and Ally.
Above you can see Bill being sashed with a first place.  Below you can see him being somewhat difficult for a
couple of moments... He got a bit excited - there were too many girls to look at and it was just all a bit much
for him.  He had the one little dummy spit and was a perfect gentleman the rest of the day.
Ceilidh scrambled in the float on the way down (we discovered she doesnt like the drivers side), so wasnt
quite 'right' and while not really obviously lame, was a touch short in her stride in her near hind.
Ceilidh presented for the first class, did a trot out and pulled out of the Cleveland Bay Classes for the entire
day.   It was a better option than showing her when she wasnt quite up to it.
Bill and Ceilidh standing in the lineup of the
first class (one horse is missing - didnt fit in
the pic!) prior to discovering she was a bit off.
Craig and Bill with a first place ribbon above, and
at Left - Craig with his Champion Handler sash.
The awarding of his handler sash could have had
something to do with the fact that he was not at
all fazed by Bills little dummy spit right in front
of the judge.... Craig waited til Bill settled and
then got on with it again without any fuss.
Bill is still looking very 'fit' rather than 'fat hack'
as he is still serving mares.
Getting Bill to trot out is a fine art - he has a beautiful trot,
however he is also happy to be a bit lazy and instead of
really striding out when Craig sprints, he will pop into a
very sedate rocking horse canter - so his trotting was a
little flat at Kapunda in a few spots.  Above Right: Being
awarded first place in the CB or CBSH Stallion Class.
Right: Having a chat
to Craig after posing
for photos.
Left and Right: First
place in the Led
Stallion Any
Registered Breed.
Above: Miss Fidget Butt - Ceilidh who
wouldnt stand up nicely for a pic!
She had been standing still all day, but
just at photo time, it was fidget, fidget,
fidget! Later in the day, she trotted out
fine, so went in the Led Mare Any
Registered Breed and placed second.
Ceilidh just trots out nicely when asked - its
just a matter of how fast her handler runs next
to her as to how big her trot is.
Below: Heather sporting
her CM Sporthorses cap
and shirt!
Above: Ceilidh receiving her
second place.
Left: Bill in the lineup for
Champion Any Registered Breed
which was won by an exquisite
little grey gelding who was
thoroughly deserving of the sash.
Below: Cleveland Bay people -
Kath and Nikki.
Above: Nikki Chadburn (on the left) and her lovely boy, Pine
Country Reznor (1/4 CB), and Kath Hurrell (in the gold) with
her gorgeous boy Lyndsworth (1/2 CB) who were also in the
CB ring on the day.
Left: Heather walking with the girls out to the arena.
Above: Kath on Lyndsworth
and Above Right: Nikki on PC
Reznor.
Ceilidh obviously wasnt up to a
ridden class (and being in foal
as she is, its not fair to ask her
to work when she hasnt been
in work at all), and Bill is still a
bit too green to expect him to
do a ridden class yet.
Right: Wendy Clark giving Bill a
lovely scratch just after she
took his plaits out for us.
Bill, was, as you can see,
lapping it up and was quite
disappointed when she stopped!
It was a great weekend and we
are glad we made the effort!
