Weaning Day for
Dolan!
Gryph gets a visit
from his owners!
Lynn and Amelia came over
from Pt Augusta on the 6th
March - a bloomin HOT day!
We needed to wean Dolan
as he is leaving on the 25th
March, so we did it nice and
early before it got too hot!
Dolan was not at all
bothered when we
caught him and
brought him home
from the paddock
where he was with his
mum.  Ceilidh was not
in the least bit
bothered about him
being led away - she
had hay, she was
right!  Typical of our
horses - think with
their stomachs!
Dolan is such a friendly little
fellow - well ok, NOT so little -
hes gotten quite tall and is
nice and solid!  He really
doesnt mind what you do to
him, as you can see with him
getting a hug and having his
front foot picked up and
stretched out in front of him!
Over the next few weeks he
will get lots of handling each
day.
When he was first put in with
Folly and Gryph, Folly pulled
faces at him, but soon relaxed.
The boys started to play
together as soon as Folly
relaxed and decided she
didnt have to pull faces at
Dolan.
Amelia and Lynn wanted to
check out how their little man
was doing and see the
wound on his chest - which
is coming along nicely.
They both had a pat and a
scratch, and Lynn was
actually only checking
Gryphs little hernia in the
photo below right! lol...
Folly is looking lovely.
We came in under the air
conditioner and had lunch and a
chat and turned the TV channel to
the Monitor/Camera we have set
up in the foaling yard to be able to
watch the horses, and Dolan and
Gryphon were having a ball.
