CM Independant Miss - 2010 Show Season!
Bred & Owned By: CM Sporthorses, Minnipa, SA
Shown By: Lyndsworth Lodge, Aldinga Beach, SA
.
CM Independant Miss (aka Indy) is residing at Lyndsworth Lodge, Aldinga Beach with Kath (Successful in the
Dressage & Show Rings & Garth Hurrell (successful harness racing breeder/owner/trainer) and Nikki Chadburn -
Kaths partner in crime when it comes to showing and all things horsey!
Upon arrival, she was introduced to rugs, daily grooming
sessions, carrots (we dont tend to feed out carrots here
- just simply because with the number of horses we
have - we would have to cart a 20kg bag around daily
and then deal with being mugged! lol), lights for part of
the night and early morning, and being taught to trot out
and stand up nicely for the judges on the lead and to
behave oneself like a lady when that show bridle was on!
Just a few weeks after arrival, Indy was taken to her first
show - which happened to be on a rather wet day as you
can see by the photographs above and right.
Poor Nikki got saturated, as did Kath, and of course Indy!
It was well worth it as Indy was a bit of a star and came away with a 1st and a 2nd - her first ribbons!.
Her placings were gained in rather large fields and against adult horses rather than all youngsters her own age.
Despite the wet weather, Indy was a darling and floated beautifully by all accounts and had Nikki and Kath raving
about her to us on the phone!   A huge well done to the girls in adverse conditions!!

CM Independant Miss - 18th July 2010
Royal Adelaide Show 2010
Indys second outing was the Royal... a big
ask for a young filly - and an even bigger
ask when the youngstock and mare classes
were combined for the Warmblood Ring -
not just Cleveland Bays.  So there was Indy
in a field of 7, and she was the only
yearling!  As you can see - she held her
own, worked out beautifully for Nikki and
placed 3rd!
We received a phone call from another friend, Anne (who was to have CM Windjammer) who had watched the
class and had to let us know ASAP how Indy had done!   We followed that up with a call to Kath and Nikki who
were absolutley over the moon as you could imagine!   The girls had many people look at Indy in the stable
complex and while waiting to enter, and leaving the class and main arena, and lots of compliments were given.
She was mistaken for an adult Riding Pony, and it was quickly pointed out that no, she was just a yearling, and
that she was going to be much bigger when finished growing!   Its lovely to hear that other people can appreciate
the quality that we (Craig and I), Kath, Nikki and family can see in her.   She is a lovely youngster and will be one
to watch - we are looking forward to big things from her in the future!
We have three videos to share with you of Indy in September 2010.
CM Independant Miss - September 2010 - Shortly before the Royal Adelaide Show
CM Independant Miss - Sept. 2010 - Royal Adelaide Show - Part 1
CM Independant Miss - Sept. 2010 - Royal Adelaide Show - Part 2
We had delivered Kalgary What The Roc to Saddleworth on the way!
Saturday the 2nd of October was bath day for Indy.
Kath and Nikki gave her a good going over, put the measuring stick
on her - a smidge under 14hh at 13 months old! - and then Craig
gave one hoof a little tidy up.   She was left standing to dry off and
was then plaited up in preparation for the next mornings early start.
Nikki is the chief plaiter for the Lyndsworth Lodge team, and does a
superb job!   Craig held her while Nikki got busy!
Sunday the 3rd of October
2010 was the change to
Daylight Savings - so the
clocks rolled forward an hour
- giving us an hours less
sleep! EEPS!  Somehow we
all managed to get up and
get going, horses loaded
onto the float and headed to
Strathalbyn!
Upon arrival it was all
systems go!
Kathy from Kalgary Stud,
Wirulla, was there to give
us a hand and Indy
crossed her legs for luck
prior to going out!  Kathy
ended up carting all the
'touch up tools' around!
Nikki and Indy hit the showring,
and placed 3rd in a field of 5 in
the Best Presented CB or CBSH
- the first class of the day.  The
rings were quite small at the
show, so there were horses
everywhere and she handled it
Craig, who had been leading Nikkis big boy Pine Country Reznor (Norman), held Indy while Nikki was in the class
with Norman.   He looked very smart in the bowler hat that Kath suggested he wear instead of his Akubra!
Craig wasnt so sure but knew better than to argue with 4 women (Kath, Nikki, Kathy and myself).
Unfortunately we did not get a photograph - but Indy took out Reserve Champion Female CB or CBSH!
Sunday 10th October 2010 -
Kapunda Breed Show
We are thrilled to announce that
Indy took out
SUPREME Cleveland Bay or
Cleveland Bay Sporthorse!
A HUGE THANKS to Kath and Nikki
for all their hard work and effort that
has gone into Indy!  it is greatly
appreciated!
Nikki took out 1st place in
the Handler class.
Indy was then in the
youngstock class she took
out 1st place and
subsequently, Champion.
I think the grins on Nikki
and Kaths faces tell the
story!
Indy looked amazing, as
always, and was very well
behaved.
Below are some photos
of Nikki with Indy, and
Kath with her lovely big
boy, Lyndsworth (Josh),
showing off their
Champion and Reserve
Champion ribbons.
You will notice that the
ribbons are not a
standard colour for
Champions & Reserves -
the Kapunda Show
Society had taken the
initiative and ordered
different colours which is
lovely!
In for Supreme - it was Indy up against Josh....
Despite standing like a donkey in the photo above
right, Indy managed to take out
SUPREME
Cleveland Bay or Cleveland Bay Sporthorse

for the day!  A fantastic result, and we are sure to
see more results like this in the future!  Indy has
taken the training that Kath and Nikki are putting
into her in her stride, and is a beautifully behaved
young lady out and about.  Indy is showing at
Morphett Vale on the 17th of Oct, and has a few
more shows in SA between now and Dec., & is then
off to the Royal Melbourne Horse Show in January!
Nikki is an import from the UK, and has a wealth of
knowledge and skill when it comes to showing, as well as
all other aspects of riding and instructing.
Indy went to live at Lyndsworth Lodge at just 9 months of
age and has bloomined with their wonderful care and
hard work that has gone into her!
To see a video of her shortly after arrival click
HERE.
The long weekend in October was the Stallions At Stud Southern Equestrian Show at Strathalbyn, which we
decided to travel down to from Minnipa - we left home at 6am and landed at Kaths place at 8pm!! We had a
couple of stops on the way - but still - a long day in the car - We were glat to get out of it finally!!
Indy, Kath and Nikki, along with Kate Lowry - who has purchased CM Bound For Glory - headed along to
Morphett Vale's Breed Show in October 2010.   Unfortunately there are no images to share with you - however
Indy wow'ed the crowd again and came home with many ribbons around her neck.   She placed very well, and
we will update this page with her results very shortly - but I believe there were a couple of Champions &
Reserve Champions to go with the place ribbons in not only the Cleveland Bay ring, but the Warmblood ring as
well!  Kate entered the WB ring with Lyndsworth (Josh) and came away with her first CB related ribbon!  She is
rather pleased!
Below are some photos from the 7th of November 2010 - taken at Lyndsworth Lodge.
We had a 'horsey day' - and Indy got a little practice run - the key to having the youngsters behave in the ring
when expected to is to keep up the work at home.  Nikki and Indy have an obvious bond!
The 5th of November 2010 was
the SABA Northern Hack &
Halter Show at Mt Pleasant.
We headed down for the show
and the Lyndsworth Lodge/CM
Sporthorses team was there and
rearing to go!
Kath and Nikki put so much time
and effort into preparation for
shows and it really pays off for
them.   The horses and
themselves are always turned
out immaculately.
It was quite a succesful day as
you can see, and Kate Lowry,
who has bought CM Bound
For Glory, was also there to
help out and held Indy (below)
while Nikki and Kath were busy
with Lyndsworth in the ring.
Kate is loving the shows which
is great!
With a couple of firsts, a second and a Champion ribbon, Indy
did us proud.
Lyndsworth (Josh) was wearing our harness for our stallions and
looked just lovely in it!

The following weekend - the 12th of December 2010 - Indy and
Josh once again went to a show at Mt Pleasant - the SA Pintos
Pretty In Pink - a fund raiser for Breast Cancer.

The wonderful photographs by
Jenny Barnes who was the official
photographer from the day are below.

Indy took out:
SUPREME Cleveland Bay or Cleveland Bay Sporthorse -
and was a hit with the judges for the Supreme of the day -
narrowly missing out on that title - she is of course only a baby in
amongst all the adult horses so has plenty of time and
opportunity to take that prize too down the track!
As you can see in these photographs -
Nikki and Indy both looked fabulous in their
PINK!  The beautiful pink garland and
ribbons just set it all off nicely!
At left you can see a
very proud Kath Hurrell
with her gorgeous big
boy Lyndsworth (Josh).
The pair look smashing!
We would like to take
this opportunity to say a
huge THANKYOU to
Kath and Nikki at
Lyndsworth Lodge for
such a brilliant job with
Miss Indy in 2010, and
we look forward to
continuing a wonderful
relationship with you in
2011 and beyond!
As breeders, we could
not ask for a better first
year in the show ring for
our baby, or for better
people to look after her!
What's next for Indy??

The Royal Melbourne Horse Show in January 2011!
Look out Victoria, here we come!   Stay tuned for the 2011 Showing Season Results!

extremely well.  Indy took out first place in the Led Cleveland Bay or
Cleveland Bay Sport Horse under 3 yrs.
With every outing, Indy just gets better and
better.   She takes pretty much everything in
her stride and while she does get a little
attached to her float mate at the show - she
is pretty good really.
Nikki and Indy have a brilliant relationship,
and she really looks to Nikki for direction.
You can see how she is maturing nicely and
how much better she is getting at each show
from the photographs.
Kath and Nikki do such a brilliant job with
her, we are just so pleased!
