October 2011 at CM Sporthorses!
It was a wet and busy start to October!!   Within the first 4
days, we had 2 foals on the ground!!
Billara Killari presented us with a lovely big coloured filly, who
sold immediately to Rebecca Paech - a friend of Leonie Dean's
who has bought Legacy!   Rebecca has named the filly
CM She's All That (Amira in the paddock)
CM Commanding Miss also had a filly - CM Roc A Billie - she gets
her name from her sire, Roc On, and her grandsire on mum side -
Billara Beersheba.    Jenni (Commanding Miss) is the first foal by
Bill, so its rather special to have his first grandchild here as well
now!  She is a bit of a pocket rocket - and while shes small now -
she should mature around the 15.2 - 15.3hh mark and is sure to be
a little stick of dynamite!   She has those QH moves down pretty
well now!
The poor love was born on the stormiest day we have had for a
long time, and it was rather wet and soggy for her entrance into the
world!
The storm caused its own issues - Di Thomas's mare, Gift Of Silver,
went AWOL thanks to the lightning, thunder and rain!
You wouldnt think a grey mare would get lost out here would you?
It was only after about 28 hours of looking
all over the countryside, informing all the
correct people that there was a horse
missing, and Di coming down to help with
the search - that she was spotted - totally
'lost' and had no idea where she was - boy
was she relieved to see Bill and the girls
again when she got back to the paddock!
Above: Bill and his girls...
its lovely to see a stallion
in the paddock with his
'wives'...
We had the farrier here -
Zeb, who is new to the
area, and he did a great
job!   I was very impressed
with his work and his
manner with the horses!
The mares were all done - and then
Roc, Winky and Frank - Wizard,
Rusty, and Maxy were going to be
looked at as well - however Jo and I
were attacked by bees - I was stung
(and found out the hard way that I
am a bit allergic to them! - OOPS!) -
Jo, being allergic as well had a bit of
a freak out when a bee got caught in
her hair - disaster averted, we
bolted for the gate - and Zeb, also
being allergic - agreed with us that
we could do the other horses feet
another day!

Heather Morgan and son Rhys from
Jamestown, came over and picked
up Lady Tuthaside to take home for
Liam to ride for a while.

They also took CM Rain Dancer
home with them to go out in the big
paddock with Heathers filly, Morgans
Run Rememberance and Ally
Kirkmans filly, Sargenta Cadence -
both by Billara Beersheba, for a
while and grow up!   A huge thanks
to them for their help while here!
Jo and Jason Hutt have also been a tremendous help to me, as well
as Caroline Payne, Jess and John Preece from Arreton Arabians and
BDLH Stud.
Foal watch has been keeping me up most nights, and down in the
paddock to check the girls.
The night I took the below photo, I thought we were going to have a
foal from Ceilidh.. but not so!
She made us wait a bit longer the ratbag!
Tess, the delightful Kelpie, you can see below right, just LOVES
getting out in the paddocks and rolling in all things that stink!   Horse
poo is a favourite!   She is so pleased with herself afterwards!
Pine Country Pepper's Anna
(Abbey) arrived to go to
Billara Beersheba - she is a
Cleveland Bay Sporthorse,
bred and owned by Margaret
Hosking of Pine Country
Sporthorses in Whyalla.
Right: Roc and Millie eating!
Left: Donna looking set to
explode!!  Below: Bills girls.
Above: Wizard and Rusty are
complete sticky beaks!!  They are
in one of John Posts paddocks
down the back of our property.
Right: CM She's All That -
showing her attitude on the 17th
October.
Left: CM Roc A Billie - growing
like a weed and looking brilliant!
Below: Billie sitting down with
Mum, Jenni saying hello, and
Tess getting awfully brave and
sniffing her bottom.
Right:  The lovely filly by Billara
Beersheba out of CM Killarnie
Ceilidh arrived on the 17th of
October during the day!   She is
a ripper and is already spoken
for - Congrats Bianca Payne
from Adelaide!
Right: Legacy is
becoming increasingly
difficult to get
photographs of as he
is such a sticky beak
and wants to be next
to me the entire time
(usually in front of me
and where I have the
camera aimed!!!).

Left: I love the look on
Ceilidhs face here - its
almost as if she has
just realised that the
bit of hanky panky she
had with Bill just over
11 months ago was
going to mean trouble
til her foal is weaned!
Bill and his girls - Abbey, Silver and Dee are all content in
their paddock with their round bale!
