Royal Adelaide Show Breed Day 2011 - 20th August - Wayville Show Grounds
EEPS, the Royal Adelaide Show came around pretty quickly!!  This
year they decided to do the Breed Day a couple of weeks before
the actual show - and as far as I am concerned, it went pretty darn
well!   The atmosphere was lovely, it was relaxed (as relaxed as a
Royal Show can be!!), and everything was well set out, including
there being plenty of time to get where you had to be!
The day of
course started
with a bit of
drama.....
Kath & Nikki - The Lyndsworth Lodge team, were in front and were on their
way to the showgrounds with Indy...
Paige, Casey, Kath and Kirra were on their way in the Lovell's car and float
with Dreamy onboard, and myself, Jess and Lina were in my car - having
stopped at Maccas to get coffees and breakfast...
We received a phone call from Paige saying that their vehicle had broken
down and they werent going to get there...
We arrived at the top of a hill on South Road (insane traffic for anyone who
knows South Road!!) and swapped the float over onto my vehicle and
Paige hopped in - and off we went leaving Casey, Kath and Kirra to sort out
"Big Ted" - the Lovell's car!    It turned out that
Ted was only a little bit injured, and needed a
part replacing that cost a whole $3.50.... not
something you want to happen on the way to a
major show though!!!
At the show, the horses in their stables, Indy
fell in love with Axel - a gorgeous Part Arabian
Palomino Stallion over the laneway - she must
have a thing for blonde men! lol....
Indy and Nikk headed into the ring for their 2yr old and
Under WB Filly class - Indy was a bit full of herself in the
practice, but thankfully in front of the judge, she was great!
After receiving first place against a very nice
competitor, Indy was in the running for
Champion WB Female.    That title went to a
gorgeous mare from Ponderosa Stud, and Indy
recieved Reserve Champion - a fantastic effort
- particularly considering that mare went on to
win SUPREME WB of the show against the
stallion and Poetry In Motion who is now a
gelding.
CM Desert Dreams and Paige Lovell were ready for the 2yr old
and under WB gelding class - and were up against the Royal Hit
babies!   Tough competition - beautiful looking youngsters who
are a bit older than Dreamy and a bit more mature - and what do
you know?  Dreamy ended up with a 2nd place - he behaved
beautifully and just did as Paige asked of him, and obviously
impressed the judge!
Paige was nervous
prior to the show -
however she didnt
need to be and she
looked like she
relaxed as she went
around the ring a
couple of times.
Dreamy really is
becoming an old
hand at this showing
caper, and is just so
willing for Paige!

When they were
awarded their 2nd
place ribbon - Paige
gave him a kiss -
Dreamy responded
by trying to eat her
hat!  Cheeky bugger!
The Royal Adelaide Show 2011 was a huge success for the
Lyndsworth Lodge, Lovell, Kokoda Park and CM Sporthorses team!

A huge well done to all involved, and it is obvious that the
Cleveland Bay Sporthorses are really holding their own in the
Warmblood Rings these days.

The second place getter in the Warmblood Mare class was also a
Cleveland Bay Sporthorse, and there was another one in the same
class as well.
Left is CM Independant Miss with Nikki Chadburn and Kath
Hurrell from Lyndsworth Lodge, and below is CM Desert Dreams
with Paige Lovell, and Kokoda Park team - Dave and Kirrilly
Moran. Thanks go to Jess Preece for some of the photos on this
page as well as Kirra and Casey for the couple of pics as well!
