David & Miriam Brands Foal, "Angels Charm" by Billara Beersheba, Minnipa, SA.
Somewhere between 5:45pm and 6pm on Friday the 19th of
February 2010, Angel (a black maximum overo + sabino paint
bred mare)decided to give birth to her foal by Billara Beersheba.
"Rosie" as she is going to be known in the paddock, is a
beautiful bay pinto filly, with a big white face and two blue eyes.
One eye is a dark blue with a lighter patch, and the other is ice
blue in colour.
Rosie will be registered with the CBHSA as a Cleveland
Bay Sporthorse and has the paperwork necessary to
be registered with the AWSHA and can be registered
with the Pinto Association.
She should mature around the 15.2 - 15.3hh mark and
would make a lovely show prospect or all rounder for
someone.   Both her sire and dam have fantastic
temperaments which they should pass on to her.
These photographs of Rosie were all taken when she was
an hour to an hour and a half old, and you can already see
her cheeky personality.
She was quite happy to get pats and cuddles as well, and
didnt take long to find the milk bar!
Rosie has an offside fore stocking that comes up over the
knee, a long sock on her near side fore, and two small socks
on her hind legs.
On her sides she has a couple of little patches of white on her
barrel, however most of her 'colour' is on her neck.
At an hour and a half
old, Rosie found her
'hoon button'.
She did a number of
laps around her mum
who just stood there
looking at her like
she was some kind
of fruitcake.
She still needs to get
control of those long
long legs!
She got a little ahead of herself and her legs didnt quite keep up with
her - causing her to crash and burn!
Instead of getting up and shaking
off the sand - Rosie opted to slot
out for a while and have a much
needed little snooze.
You can see the scarring on Angels
face - at some point in her previous
life she has been very badly
sunburnt and its damaged her face
to the point that she doesnt grow
hair on these areas.
Rosie is a little treasure, she is
very inquisitive and has to
know whats going on and is
difficult to photograph as she
sticks her nose in your face!

She is pictured here on the
25th of February 2010, having
unfolded since being born 6
days prior.
Rosie is in step with mum in the above photo, heading back
to the hay bale.
As Rosie grows
we will add to
this page for
you to see her!
The 4th of April 2010 was the day these latest shots of Rosie were
taken.   She is a chunky girl and is full of spunk.
She is very friendly and comes up for cuddles and pats, and loves
scratches all over.
Her light blue eye is
really blue and stands
out from quite some
distance away.
It really adds to her
character.
She is going quite dark under the foal fluff, so it will
be interesting to see what colour she sheds out to.
It wont be too much longer and she will be getting
regular leading lessons.   At this point she has not
had a halter on, but will follow you anywhere in the
paddock and loves the pats and cuddles all over.
Trying to get photos of her proves difficult when she is
coming up and sticking her face in the camera the
entire time!
