| Branding Day for Tobi and Dolan! Monday the 17th was "B-Day" for Tobi and Dolan. The previous day we had clipped their shoulders and were left gobsmacked by their reactions to the clippers - well, more to the point, their NON-reactions to the clippers! Both boys just stood there when the clippers were turned on and put on their shoulders and didn't move a muscle... Couldnt have been better behaved about it if they tried! |
| Trent and Wesley came up to give us a hand with the actual branding - which also allowed me to take some photos! It was nice just to have the extra pairs of hands there in case they were needed. Trent and Wes are both very tall (Trent is 6'8) and actually look 'normal' next to Tobi! Both the boys were able to see over Tobis back - something neither Craig or I can actually do! |
| The CM brand we have is very simple as you can see and is nice and neat. It is the minimum height of 50mm so is nice and small and doesnt stand out like... well... the proverbial! Below are a couple of pics of Craig and Trent putting the mouthing bit on Tobi - As you can see, when he puts his head up hes way out of Craigs reach! Even Trent struggled to reach! |
| As soon as the bit was in his mouth he was perfectly fine - he just 'doesnt know' yet - but will soon learn! Pictured right with him is Ashlee - a young friend of ours who came up to see Tobi. She thought he was lovely and HUGE! Her mum thought he was pretty big too! This gorgeous boy has the BEST temperament and really doesnt seem phased by anything at all..... He LOVES smooches and cuddles, and has a very gentle disposition. |
| Next up was Dolans turn... Tobi came over to see what was going on of course - he cant be left out of anything.... Wes held Dolans head and Trent had his hand on his butt to hold him in against the fence. Craig walked in and applied the brand for 2 seconds and that was it. Dolan wasnt bothered by it. Afterwards Dolan and Tobi stood up in the back corners of their yards for a while. |
| Left you can see Folly and Gryphon wandering up to say hello - it was late in the day as you can tell by the light! Above is Gryphons wound and as you can see it is healing up quite well. The last set of buttons are ready to come out. Its amazing how quickly its closing up and how neat its coming up. |
| Pictured Right is Mandy and her lovely Jenni - who was being a little camera shy and didnt really want to have her photo taken tonight! Below is Lady... she has settled in really well, she is on her own at the moment as she was being picked on a little. We can also give her a bigger feed if shes on her own a bit easier too. There are also a few photos of our sheep below too. We only have 6 sheep, and they wander around the horse paddocks as they feel like it. |
| We have White Suffolk x Merino sheep. In our little herd we have 2 ewes and the rest are rams... we are keeping the ewes and the ram pictured above left.
