Billara Beersheba 13th May 2009 After 6 months off work to do his duties with the girls, and to let everything he had learnt soak in, as well as some more time to mature, Bill is back in work! He has taken to it extremely well and isnt worried about anything at all.
Craig lunged him in the round yard on the 12th for about 20 mins just to start him off again, and leant over him again with no reaction at all from him. Today he hopped on and walked and trotted in the round yard before venturing out into the 'big bad world' with him.
Bill hadnt been off the property under saddle yet - and was feeling so good that Craig decided it was going to happen today! He walked up the laneway past Roc and his girls without any hesitation and out the front gates and over the road to the scrub.
Bill walked calmly around the scrub, up and down the little 'drain' that is there, over logs and jump rails, and through the bushes and trees. He was relaxed the entire time and Craig said he felt really good.
He went to the Apex Park - where Bill thought that the big cement rubbish bin looked like it ate horses, but soon got over that and wasnt worried in the end about it.
Spook decided that he would lay down and help 'Spook Proof' Bill.... we had just been joking about spook proofing him by throwing Spook at him! And who should show up - but the Greater Grey Carpet Sloth who goes by the name of Spook! Note the tyre tracks - they were there BEFORE Spook lay there just in case you were wondering!

On the 20th May, while lunging Bill we decided to make it a bit more interesting for him and see if he could hop over an obstacle. We deliberately lunge with the stirrups down to have him used to things dangling.
