Allen Park Studs Herd - 26th August 2008 - The Geldings (& one mare)!
Above you can see the little herd that is out on one of the Wudinna East properties - it is
around 2200 acres - just one big paddock!  The only mare in this herd you can see at far
left - the pinto pony mare.  She is in foal to the QH stallion, The Power To Rule, but isnt
due for some time yet.  The rest of them are Thoroughbreds with the exception of the
pinto gelding who is a 2 yr old
3/4 Quarter Horse who has
Allen Park Bald Eagle as a
grandsire.  His dam is Allen
Park Pocahontas who
unfortunately passed away
early 2008.
At left is a 2003 born gelding
by Made Of Gold out of Go
Dancer Go.
Below is Best Gambler.
Below are the horses paddock mates - quite a large
herd of cattle.  The horses are checked on regularly
as are the cattle.  Due to the size of the properties it
is necessary to go for quite a drive around the
paddocks and just check that everyones legs are
pointing in the right direction, and that no one has
injured themselves on anything.  The rate of injuries
is much less in the larger paddocks than in yarded
horses.
The pinto mare at left is
in foal to Spurvolt Tu
Chicahn - it will be her
first foal.
The uniquely marked
Appaloosa mare is
running with Allen Park
Cherokee at the
moment.  This could be
an interesting foal from
her!
Above is Allen Park
Serrana who is in foal to
AP Cherokee, as are the
rest of the TB mares
you can see in this shot.
Right is AP Dakota, who
is by AP Bald Eagle out
of a Clydesdale mare.
She slipped her foal by
Billara Beersheba (3/4
Cleveland Bay stallion),
and has been served by
AP Cherokee for a 2009
foal.  It was a shame
that she slipped her
foal.
In the background of this shot you can see the cropped paddocks which are part of what
this herd is usually running on.  We hope you have enjoyed the images on these pages!

Allen Park Studs Herd - 26th August 2008 - The Girls & Cherokee!
The photographs below are at one of the Wudinna East properties.  Normally the horses
run with the cattle on about 2500 acres, however because a good portion of this is locked
up with the crop growing on it, they are on around 400 acres right now.
You can see Mt Wudinna in the background - it makes a lovely scene!
Being out in the huge paddocks is fantastic for low worm burdens too - as the grazing is
not concentrated and they are not eating around their own manure as is the case with
horses in smaller paddocks and yards.  As mentioned on the page with the colts, the large
space is fantastic for their growing bones and muscles as they are not restricted in any way.
Above is AP Babe
who is heavily in foal
to AP Cherokee.
It would be lovely to
get a Pintaloosa from
her! Fingers crossed!
Left, Cherokee is
having a lovely
grooming session
with a very hairy TB
mare.  The amount of
hair on the ground
beneath them was
amazing!
