On the 21st March
we took a few
shots of our days
handling with the
foals.
Sassy got a
leading lesson and
at first wasn't
keen, but soon
picked it up again.
Sassy also had a hoof trim, and she was a good girl and
wasn't worried about it at all.
Above you can see Jack and Sassy with their heads in
the feed tub!  Not an unusual place for them!
Wings decided she was into a bit of bondage...
She got herself draped in the other foals ropes...
We like this to occur so that they learn not to
panic, and in the yards they are in, they cant
catch the ropes or headstalls on anything.
Wings, Jack and
Sassy decided
to see if all three
of their heads
would fit in the
bucket - and
they did - JUST!
It is difficult to try and get a
decent shot of the foals in the
yards as they all like to come
up and say hello!
Legs had another tie up lesson and a hoof trim
as well... She was quite good and as you can
see, Craig was fairly relaxed while trimming her
feet being able to kneel on one knee to do it. - It
saves his back a little!
Carli was next up for a
trim, and she wasnt
impressed that she had
to stand tied up while
the other kids were
sticking their head in
the yellow bucket
which she thought SHE
should have had her
head in as well!
She was a very good
girl - and having her
legs and hooves
handled is old hat to
her now.  She is quite a
quick learner as well
which is great!
Carli met Chevy up close and personal
- Chevy is just so friendly and has to be
involved with everything.  He had a
little ride on Carli and tried to KILL her
tail every time it moved!
Thankfully Chevy didnt use his claws - or
Carli may not have appreciated it at all.
He hopped off shortly after the photo at
left, but prior to that was quite happy to
just sit there and enjoy the view.
After Carli was done with - it was Jacks
turn to have a trim.
At one point, Jack objected and had a little
leap, however he soon settled and behaved
himself when he realised that he wasnt
going to get out of it that easily.  Just a
typical baby with a short attention span!
Chevy had to get back
in on the action again,
and this time it was the
end of Jacks lead that
needed killing.
He has been dragged
around the yard when
he has grabbed the lead
as a foal has walked
away, and is in and out
of their legs all the time.
