Weaning Time!
On the 11th of March 2009 - Wings lost
her mummy.... Salle went down to Allen
Park Stud to live - back in foal to
Bill....She had Lady and Legs for
company and was quite happy about it
and isnt missing her mum much at all.
On the 12th March 2009, Kathy was here to pick up her mare who
was here for a while, and as she and her hubby drove in the gate, it
was discovered that Jack was on the wrong side of the fence.  So,
no time like the present to wean him and Carli from their mums!
They went in with Wings, Legs and Lady.
We have had some rain, and the first foaling yard
(which the babies were in) has a bit of a swamp
happening in one corner (it will only take a day or two
to dry out)... Jack decided playing in the water was fun.
While Kathy and Gary were here picking up Jess, they
had a look at all the foals, and Kathy decided she had
to have Legs.... So in a couple of weeks, Legs will be
off to live at Wirrulla, just an hour up the road from us.
Kathy should have a
lot of fun with Legs -
she is a gorgeous
girl, and is very
inquisitive.
She likes the
company of other
horses, however is
quite happy to
wander off on her
own and do her own
thing too!
Wings decided to act
like a donkey and I
managed to catch
her mid yawn...
This is truely what
you call a 'donkey
shot' of her I think!
She is growing well.
