Gryphon & Jenni 10th August 2008 - Enjoying being out on the green feed! Proof that we actually have green even if it is just for a very short time!
We have let the 'kids' out on the green at last! It is long enough now for them to go out on it and not completely trash it! Gryph and Jenni seem to be enjoying their time out there, and are still getting some hay over the fence so that they dont get the runs from the change of feed.
Both of them are what I call 'hairy and feral' at the moment. Craig just thinks they are hairy yaks. Getting shots of them having a run around was 'interesting' on my own as they just wanted to come and say hello and get scratches!
You will notice the yellow bandage on Jennis leg - she has done herself a little injury, but it doesnt seem to affect her at all - it doesnt 'hurt' enough to stop her having a hoon around the paddock with her buddy!
In the photo at the top of the page, you can see Chloe the Calf in the laneway - probably wishing she was out there with the foals - she has an identity crisis and thinks shes a horse! When they go for a run and a buck, so does she!
Both Jenni and Gryph are growing nicely, and even though shes a couple of months younger than Gryph, Jenni is almost up there height wise with him! The pair of them are best of friends, and are rarely apart.
Gryphs owner wants to do some in hand showing with him in the not too distant future, so she is going to have fun with all that hair on him getting him clean and KEEPING him clean. He is a grot, and loves nothing more than to squirm in the dirt!
Spook came down to help and sat in the feed for a while (the feed is Triticale)... He did move though when the kids had a little run around! Smart cat! Its hard to believe that Spook is 6 1/2 yrs old now! 2007 Foals Breeding Stock News & Happenings Stock For Sale Home
