CM Oberon Toblerone and his 'wives' 15th August 2008
Tobi (Cleveland Bay x Holsteiner), Caylie (Cleveland Bay x TB), Commanding View (Mandy -
TB) and Chloe's Star (Chloe - TB) were put out on the back paddock today which is finally
ready to have some horses on it!
The paddock was sown with Triticale and a little Barley.
As you can see they had a ball for the first 20 mins of being let out on it!
Tobi & Mandy having a bit of a hoon!
Below you can see Caylie, Tobi, Chloe and Mandy
all going flat out.  Sadly there is dust around as we
have not had as much rain as we desperately need.
Craig was horrified that they were tearing up his
paddock!!  They had a ball having a run around
anyhow, and really stretched their legs there a few
times!
They all get on really well as a 'herd'.
Left and Below are Mandy, Chloe,
and Caylie.
They all have their winter coats at the
moment so look really fluffy and feral!
Mandy is 20 yrs old now, and doesnt
look too bad for her age.  We are
looking forward to seeing their foals
by Tobi next year.
Tobi loved charging around
and you can see how
straight he moves in the
photo at right.
He really is such a big
doofus.  Hes so funny and is
constantly talking to us -
particularly at feed time -
when Craig is forking hay
over the fence he is always
nickering away with that
lovely deep low voice of his,
which goes up a couple of
octaves when the hay
comes his way!
Above you can see Caylie having a
trot, and then of course Tobi having a
canter...
Right are the three girls again, same
with the photograph below - From left
to right is Caylie, Chloe and Mandy.
The single horse grazing is Caylie,
and to the right of that photo is Mandy,
Chloe and Tobi at the back grazing.
YEEHAA!
Tobi trys to
have a few
bucks, but
isnt terribly
coordinated
as you can
see.... He is
really quite
funny to
watch.
Generally, when they
are shown, Cleveland
Bay Stallions are
plaited, however I dont
want to have to pull
Tobis gorgeous
mane, or cut it!!  So I
think he will have to
have a running braid!
Tobi is seen here doing
his 'dead cockroach'
impersonation....
After they had a big run
around Tobi decided that
it was time for a big roll.
He spent ages just
flipping himself back and
forth.  Thankfully it isnt
muddy at the moment!
Left: Chloe and Mandy having a
munch together... Chloe is in
desperate need of a bath!! But its too
cold at the moment to do it!
Above: Mandy
Right: Caylie
Above Right: Tobis gorgeous big
noggin... He has such a lovely soft
expression on his face all the time.  He
really is a big sweetie!
Above and Left:
Caylie having a bit of a
hoon around!
Below: Mandy
Below Left: Chloe
Chloe got a bit of a sweat up with
her hooning efforts... She's obviously
not as fit as she would like to think!
Below:  Caylie decided that if Tobi
could do the Dead Cockroach
impersonation, then so could she.
She was so pleased with herself,
she was even smiling in the photo
below!
Our neighbour wanted our sheep to go into
the little strip at the back of her house.  So
we herded the little flock into Tobis paddock
where they are free to roam under the rails
into her heavily grassed and salt bushed
area!  Chloe the Calf joined the sheep and
even though she had acess to the green up
the back - she had to get what was UNDER
the fence!!!
